Information recently disclosed by NVIDIA shows that the company’s CEO Jensen Huang’s total compensation surged by 60% in the last fiscal year.
According to the latest proxy filing released Tuesday afternoon, Huang\’s total compensation for fiscal year 2024 is $34.2 million.
That\’s up from the $21.4 million he\’ll make in fiscal 2023 and the $23.7 million in fiscal 2022. That\’s despite his base salary remaining relatively steady at just under $1 million.
Stock awards are an important factor in Huang Jen-Hsun\’s salary increase in fiscal year 2024.
In fiscal 2024 as of January this year, Nvidia\’s stock price rose by about 200%.
Huang\’s latest tranche of annual stock awards totaled $26.7 million, up from $19.7 million the previous year.
Jen-Hsun Huang also received $4 million in non-equity incentive plan compensation.
Nvidia pointed out that the company\’s revenue in fiscal 2024 exceeded the extended compensation plan target, allowing Huang Renxun to receive this income.
His compensation also included about $2.5 million from other sources, mostly related to private security.
About $2.2 million of that was related to security, consulting, monitoring and car and driver services.
The previous year\’s salary in this area was worth less than $700,000.
NVIDIA stated in its proxy filing: Due to the high visibility of our CEO and based on an independently evaluated executive security plan developed by our board of directors, NVIDIA provides security protection for Mr. Huang.
