BHP Billiton fell 3% before opening, bid 31.1 billion pounds to acquire Anglo American Resources

Gelonghui, April 25 | BHP Billiton (BHP.US) fell 3.07% to US$57.42 before the opening.

On the news, Anglo American, a mining company listed in London, said on Thursday that it had received an all-stock acquisition proposal from BHP Billiton. If the deal is completed, it will create the world\’s largest copper mining company, accounting for about 10% of global output.

BHP Group also confirmed on Thursday that it had made an all-stock acquisition proposal to Anglo American, valuing the smaller rival at 31.1 billion pounds (approximately $38.8 billion).
